Q:  How come I'm able to adjust voltage and current settings above the ratings in specification for 9130 power supply?

A:  On the 9130 power supply, the rated specifications for CH1 and CH2 are 30V/3A max., while CH3 is 5V/3A max., yet users are able to set the maximum voltage/current to 31V/3.1A for CH1 and CH2 and 6V/3.1A for CH3.  The reason for this is because in order to maintain CV operation at maximum power draw, the supply needs to be able to adjust slightly above the rating.  If the supply limits to exactly what the stated maximum rating is, it will regulate near the borderline between CV and CC mode, causing instability to maintain either operating modes at the crossover point.
